These are some words we personally use.
Personal Terms
aspect
- This word isn't negative for us. Words and perceptions can be difficult to explain for others to understand, and this word is as close as we've found to describing certain smaller groups within our entirety. To us, "aspect" (in this one sense) doesn't mean a person isn't considered a complete person, or is only a part of a whole. We use the word to mean other individuals within a smaller group. This is how they refer to each other. A bit like saying "my other half" or "my siblings". It's a word we've chosen and given our own definition. There are times when we do use the word in it's original form as well.
body history
- This is the linear history that occurs for the physical body. The history that others outside of our group would see or know of, no matter which one of us were actually present during certain years.
channeling
- We know the spiritual meaning of this word, but in a Plural sense we use this word in relation to those at the Front. One individual may be controlling the body and there may be several others near the front who want to contribute to what is going on. The controlling-Front may then "channel" their wishes, either by typing for them or doing other actions for them.
Epitome
- The entirety of our group is called the Kasiya Epitome. Our group also contains several smaller groups within it; such as Tej Agni, Chex Mix, The Clique.
filters
- Filters are what we have put in place to keep minimal contact with the others within the group while one is fronting. There are many different filters we use and they are rather fluid.
flooding
- This is the term we use for the times when the thoughts or emotions of the others become so intense that it affects the functions of the individual currently fronting. For some reason the filters slipped and allowed other group stimuli to bleed over.
group mates
- Our term for others within our Group. Similar to Head Mates, System Mates, etc.
multiple group
- This is how we usually refer to ourselves. We aren't Multiple, we're a Multiple Group. We want to drop the word "Multiple" all together and say we are "more than one", since we have not been too comfortable with the word recently. We also have referred to ourselves as "a group of Multiples & non-Multiples", meaning some in our group are Multiple themselves, while others are not.
realm
- Our word for "inner world". We don't call it an Inner World because it doesn't exist only inside of us, but outside and inside (or within and without). Our Realm is a dimension that contains galaxies, planetary systems, planets, and more. It doesn't function with the same universal laws that rule this earth realm; sometimes it can tweak a persons' perception. There are times when it's difficult to explain and translate our Realm's workings into words that work here, but we think we do a fairly good job (mostly). We also refer to our Realm as "Strand". This word would be similar to Head Space, etc.
smooshed
- Not a very technical word, but it works for us. There are times when those who are at the front may be blended (for whatever reason). During these times we may not even know what name to go by, or who we really are. It can feel as though we are one big messy puddle with eyes. We aren't sure why this happens, and we used to be worried that it meant we were failing at something or losing a skill that was keeping us separate. We've come to realize that in the non-Multiple world, being an individual is very important; and even though we are mostly a group of individuals, it isn't a failure to be connected and blended together. It is a hard thing to accept oneselves as we are and not be our own worse judge.
tek-kin/tekkers
- Our own personal term for those in our group who are derived mainly from technology. They may also fit under the term Otherkin, but we wished for something a bit more specific. These include: artificial intelligences, cyborgs, droids, and other mostly-tech "constructs".
thought-created person
- We aren't sure if this is an actual term used or not, and some might consider this to be the same as an "in-sourced soulbond". Again, since we are trying to step away from using the word "soulbond", "thought-created" works better for us. We also see this word to work well with "manifested". Our realm is at times very dependant on the thoughts of those who live in it, so the idea of the thoughts of one (or more) individuals resulting in the creation of another new individual isn't so difficult for us to imagine (especially since it's happened often already for us). This is different than actually giving birth, yet we do also call a newly-created person "newly-born".
